Rudin took the stage on October 7 to present “Stop Being Polite… and GET RUDE With Your Brand,” a session centered on building a memorable law firm brand by being bold, standing out in a crowded market, and focusing on what clients actually need—not what attorneys think they should want.
During the talk, Rudin challenged attendees to answer a foundational question: What makes their firm different? He emphasized that brand-building is a long game, more like “farming” than “hunting”, and urged attorneys to stop blending in with the same tired visual and messaging cues that dominate the legal industry.
“Before I opened my firm, I was a defense lawyer for a little over a decade. I was working the same cases I’m working now, but on the other side,” Rudin said, explaining how that experience shaped his client-first approach and the firm’s willingness to confront insurance companies head-on. He also shared RUDIN LAW’s rapid growth story from its early days, describing how the firm started from a bedroom office and scaled quickly through consistent brand-building, community engagement, and digital presence.
One of Rudin’s central takeaways was that law firms are in the attention business—and safe choices don’t earn attention. “We are in the attention business, and safe things do not get attention,” Rudin told the audience, encouraging lawyers to take smart risks and commit to a brand identity that people will actually remember.
Rudin also introduced his “Get Rude” brand strategy, built on three pillars: Get Bold, Get Local, and Get Digital. He explained how that framework supports longevity and trust by meeting people where they are and communicating in a way that resonates.
