Alexandria, LA (March 17, 2026) – A woman died after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night, March 11, in the 5100 block of Masonic Dr in Alexandria.
Emergency units responded to the scene at about 8:30 p.m. after reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle along the roadway. When crews arrived, they located 43-year-old Rachel Tate with serious injuries.
Tate was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, she later died from the injuries she suffered in the crash. Officials said there were no early signs that the driver involved was impaired at the time of the accident. However, routine toxicology testing is still pending as part of the review process.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
