Chauvin, LA (March 28, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash resulted in a fatality on Wednesday evening, March 25, in Chauvin. The collision occurred around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of LA 56 and Josie Court.
Authorities reported that Aljean Ledet, 58, of Chauvin, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado northbound on LA 56. At the same time, a 2006 Pontiac G6 traveling in the same direction failed to slow down and struck the rear of Ledet’s vehicle.
Following the impact, the Chevrolet left the roadway on the right side and overturned. Ledet, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Information about the other driver has not been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
