Alexandria, LA (April 2, 2026) – A tragic hit-and-run crash on Eddie Williams Avenue claimed the life of a local teenager on Tuesday night, March 31.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near the Tulane Avenue intersection, when 16-year-old Collin Lacaze of Alexandria Senior High School and a 16-year-old girl were standing on the shoulder. A southbound vehicle struck both and then fled the scene. Both victims were transported to a local medical center with serious injuries, but Lacaze was pronounced deceased shortly afterward. The identity of the other teen has not been released.
Authorities have not yet determined why the victims were on the side of the road. The Alexandria Police Department continues to investigate and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
