Shreveport, LA (April 6, 2026) – A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Saturday night has died from injuries sustained in the crash. The incident occurred around 9:47 p.m. on April 4 at the intersection of Jewella Avenue and Midway Street in Shreveport.
According to preliminary reports, a Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound on Jewella Avenue was attempting to navigate around a stopped vehicle when the driver saw a pedestrian crossing the roadway. The driver tried to avoid the person but was unable to, resulting in the collision. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital by emergency units with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.
The identities of the pedestrian and driver have not been released. Emergency crews and the Shreveport Police Department Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene.
