The collision happened on Thursday, March 5, when the scooter operator was traveling southbound in the right lane. A southbound vehicle struck the scooter and continued into the parking lot at 1602 W Pinhook Rd. The impact left the woman lying in the roadway.
She was then hit a second time by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. After that impact, she remained in the right southbound lane and was struck again by a third vehicle.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she is listed in critical condition. The first driver, identified as 36-year-old Dakota Wagoner of Lafayette, was arrested on charges of negligent injury and operating while intoxicated after providing a breath sample of 0.225 g%BAC. The third driver provided a voluntary breath sample of 0.000 g%BAC.
