Get To Know The Get Rude® Team
Matthew has called New Orleans home since arriving as a freshman at Tulane University in 2005—the same year Hurricane Katrina reshaped the city. What began as a college experience quickly turned into a lifelong commitment to the city and its people. After graduating, he dedicated two years to AmeriCorps, serving New Orleans schools and helping students and teachers rebuild stronger learning communities. He went on to become a high-school teacher and later an assistant principal, experiences that strengthened his dedication to advocating for children and families.
That same sense of purpose led him to earn a master’s degree from Columbia University and a J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Matthew began his legal career in New York—a place where being a little rude is practically a professional skill. It turned out to be perfect training for standing up to insurance companies and defense attorneys who don’t play fair. At Get Rude, Matthew channels that experience into direct, relentless advocacy for his clients.
He lives in Uptown New Orleans with his wife, young son, and their dog, Bubba. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, catching live music, cheering on the Saints, and exploring the neighborhoods that made him fall in love with the city.
